Monash Ball 2009- Vogue

 The news report that I intend to research and develop is on upcoming Monash Ball which will be held on 25^th of September, 2009 at Sunway Resort Hotel Grand Ballroom.

News Values

My report will interest people associated with Monash University including current students, staffs as well as prospective students who hope to find out more about life at Monash.

Also, since Monash Ball is one of the biggest and most anticipated events that only takes place once a year, my news report would definitely be newsworthy.

I hope to show wide aspects of Monash Ball, from the way it is organized, how the actual event turns out to be, and also explore the behind scenes.

1. Monash Website

First, I intend to use is the Monash website.

It will keep being updated regarding the Monash Ball and this website perhaps would be most credible source because it is an official website which has been publicized.

2. Past Issues of MonGa- the Monash Gazette

Reviewing past articles on Monash Ball in MonGa would help me to attain information about how the event turned out to be, which I can also use it to compare and contrast with the upcoming event.

Face-to-face Interviews

1. Kelvin Tan

Kelvin Tan- Social Activities Chairperson

One of the confirmed face-to-face interviews will be held with Kelvin Tan, a chairperson of Social Activities Committee who is in charge of organizing this event.

Interviewing him would help me to gather information regarding the range of tasks student organizers do to make this event successful.

There are 5 candidates running for each position and I hope to be able to interview both of the winners.

Interviewing Mr. and Ms.Monash would help me to develop my news report since it is one of the central activities that takes place during the event.

3. Monash Ball Attendee

I wish to select a simple attendee or two people who have attended the previous Monash Ball as well as the upcoming one.

Interviewing an attendee would give me a proper account on their thoughts regarding the event.
